Chrome delete / dechromed 4Runner Limited Transformation: Pro Heritage grill, Rough Country extended fender flares & more

I bought the same trim - Limited/ Hybrid/ Blk/ Port. It's really a street princess (for now). I really love the interior, although coming from a 2002 Sequoia it feels a little cramped. Agree with you about all the chrome and the milage, I'm barely getting 16 MPG (90% city). Great job on the mods.... maybe someday for me. What's your out of pocket so far? I purchased my Limited because I wanted the brown leather Portobello interior which ONLY came in the Limited. However I didn't like the look of all the chrome etc. So I did this:

- Purchased the bronze overlay kit (only kit that had the "Limited" badging) and painted it matte black. Then stuck it on and it removed all the chrome badging.

- Purchased and installed for cheap the gloss black roof rails from a forum member here.

- Purchased and installed the TRO PRO upper heritage grill

• Grill part # is Part Number: 53101-35170
• Comes with gray Lettering

- Purchased and installed some TRO PRO Rims and rapped them in Nitto 275/70/18 tires.

- Had a local shop paint gloss black the front and rear gray bumpers.

- Rough Country Extended Flares

• Fender Flares | Sport | Toyota 4Runner 2WD/4WD (2025)
• SKU: S-T12511-202

Oh yes and I also bought and installed a new hood, lol.

What raptor lights did you install on the grill? I like how they are subtle. Also were they easy plug and play and can you turn them on and off?

These are the ones I used. Super easy and fun install.

I tapped a fuse that always turns on when I start the car and turns off when I turn the car off.

Just swapped my limited grill out for the TRD Pro version. People aren't lying, it's a real pain in the ass!

The clips are the real bitch I found, especially the ones on the bottom of the grill. Be careful and make note which are from the grill (the smaller tabs) and which are the body coloured ones on the lower moustache. With underground/black it's hard to tell the difference.

When freeing the top moustache I followed a comment someone made about using. microfiber cloth to stuff between the "freed" parts as I worked my way along the clips. It helped a lot as I was doing it solo.

Also, in all the videos the front bumper easily came off. If you have a block heater installed it won't come free as easily. I had to work with it still attached but made due.

I love look of it now! Now to powder coat the 20" wheels and roof rails.
