Welp. That didn't take long. 1400 miles into new TRD Sport Premium and check engine light comes on today. Indicated Drive Start Control Malfunction. Anybody else experiencing this? Not even sure what that is. Looking into now.

Pulled the negative terminal of the battery to see if the check engine light and drive start control malfunction light would go off. It did but came back on after about 3 miles of driving. Was next to an auto parts store and I stopped there to have them pull the codes for me. This is what it came back with. Off to the dealership tomorrow.

Update: Dealership confirmed the P219519 and P00D562 DTCs. Tested the O2 sensor circuit and found the current above threshold. Swapped the upstream O2 sensor with same O2 sensor from a like model on the lot and the condition went away during a drive test. Put my O2 sensor back in and condition came back. Looks like a bad upstream O2 sensor. Had to order the part so it will be a few days before I can get the new one in. Hopefully just a bad sensor and not something else causing the sensor to go bad. I guess time will tell.

When I had the issue, my dealership service manager told me it was okay to drive for short period of time until the part came in. Still made me nervous so I limited my driving for the 2 days it took for my replacement part to come in. My O2 sensor failure resulted in my 4Runner running too lean which you do not want to do for an extended period of time.

Did you had any other problems after the fixing 02sensor?
