Cargo Shelf for Skis ?

I was wondering if any of you guys ever used cargo shelves as an interior ski rack ? I would like to avoid roof rack as a solution to transport my skis and would love to find something more clever than just fold the seats and loosely throw them in the trunks.

honestly though, rooftop box is the way to go. end of my ski runs my gear is typically iced up and if it's my rock skis, it's grubby. I want that in the rooftop box along with my boots so it doesn't melt or mud up the interior until I can get around to cleaning it up.
