The tsb includes the same pads shims etc that are on the tsb for tundras front brake squeal. The only difference is the rotors. They get rotors we don’t. Yet.

there are three kind of brake noise going on. I’ve dealt with this shit since March still isn’t resolved.

1. You either don’t have brake squal
2. You hear is every so often or not until hundreds if not thousands of miles and still hear it so often.
3. You hear it every god dam dam ever 4 hours loud as can be from the first to second day of ownership fowards and backwards. Forwards usually when the car is sitting on in a line then moving up slowly.…. winner over here.

Tsb….
1. Not worried about it
2. Corrected their problem.
3. Didn’t do anything maybe helped make it not happen going forward but still squeals.

I can almost bet at some point a new TSB will be issued to correct the 3s. With rotors. Why not now? It’s cheaper to fix what they can with pads then to give rotors out when not needed for maybe the majority.

Never in my entire life of owning cars have I ever had to bed brakes. That’s just stupid. If that’s the case they would have had big ass stickers or something in the car advising oweners.

It's worth a shot to try this - pump the brakes before you reverse out. Every time I remember to do that, I don't hear any squeal.

Pumping brakes didn't help for me. TY for the suggestion though. I would recite poetry before starting the vehicle if it makes the squeal go away. 10,000 mile service is coming up. Let's see if Toyota cares at all to address but I doubt theywill. I've learned with Toyota to keep my expectations low. Never again.

Is it horrendously loud in the morning or just lightly? If it’s horrendously loud I bet you can reproduce it every 4 hours. I can.
Mine squeals whenever it has sat for a few hours. Esp bad in the mornings and when damp or wet. I can certainly reproduce throughout the day. Every now and then it does not do it - I buy lottery tickets on that trip.

Yup same here. Even tried to take Toyota through arbitration and I lost. That’s after they told me to do it because they wouldn’t help me anymore……so whatever

I park my 4Runner in the garage. I would hear the squeal when backing up in the morning or when parked for a few hours. I have not taken it in for the TSB since it doesn’t seem to solve the problem.

Last week I had all the wheels off to spray the frame with Fluid Film, and I figured would try and solve the brake squeal myself. I wanted to try resolving the brake squeal with anti-seize.

I took the brake pads out and put anti-seize between the pads and shims and between the shims. I also put anti-seize on all contact points. I did this to all 4 corners. When I pulled them out I did notice that some of the shims seemed loose and were not held tight to the brake pad. If I had to guess, the squeal is coming from that loose shims. With anti-seize applied it keeps the shims and brake pads together.

I have drove everyday since I have add the anti-seize to the brake pads and I have not heard any noise since then. I am putting this out there for others to try.

I would like some feedback by others.
