My Fellow 4Runner People,
On the HYbrid engine where do you hook up the main positive & negative cables that run from the battery into the AuxBeam Circuit Control Box under the hood?

The Battery itself is in the rear cargo area on a HYbrid. . . looking for a main positive lead under the hood for accessories, lights, etc. . . .

Thanks in advance.

Update: this is the final install. . . . feel free to ask me anything . . i'd be glad to help

I know very little about automotive electrical issues, so apologies in advance if this is of no help to you…

…but if you look in the owner manual pp.480-483 discuss the 4 AUX switches where there is a switched power source “AUX #5” that is a fifth route. I doubt that provides enough power for what your Auxbeam requires. It is only a 10A circuit.

That is all I can offer. Maybe someone who has installed a similar device can weigh in with what will answer your question.

I grounded the negative in the engine compartment and ran the positive cable all the way to the battery in the rear. I didn't want to mess with the fuse box, as some of the other people who have posted on here have. Not willing to potentially void any warranty by splicing/tapping into it.

there are two dedicated positive feeds in the fuse box on the passenger side specifically for accessories & to jump start the car if need be . . . .

Toyota knows everyone like to customize their 4Runners !
