800 miles on 2025 TRD Sport. I usually like to get off the gas and coast as long as I can prior to stopping. Going easy on the brakes I guess. However, if there is a car/object in front of me the brakes automatically apply. Seems like 5 car lengths plus when this engages. I’ve adjusted the front sensor to the max. Doesn’t seem to be a function to adjust/ override this. Any thoughts?

Interesting, I don't think I've noticed this outside having cruise control on.

Brakes are cheaper than an at fault rear end crash.

It is the Pre-Collision System "PCS" feature you are experiencing. I had the same complaint. You can change sensitivity of it or turn it off via "Settings" in the dashboard.

This is the answer. There was a couple interactive autos I disabled. Play around in the settings.

At least in my case it was Proactive Drive Assist (PDA). This was good news as it can be turned off and stay off even with restart.

Can you permanently turn it off or disable it? Now you have to turn it off every time you start the vehicle.

No, you have to disable it EVERY time you start the vehicle... super annoying
