App sync status update issues

Anyone else having issues with the Toyota app status updating? Mine does not update frequently and does not update in the background. I do not get lock, and unlock notifications. I tried deleting and reinstalling and I tried removing the vehicle and re-adding it and I also made sure background refresh set to ON.

Sadly, that seems to be a Toyota normal.

thursday the app network died in the morning. couldnt do remote starts, but it came back up later in the day.

This is one area I think Toyota missed the mark by a mile.
The app and the remote start are both always "wonder if this is going to work this time" kind of thing....

meh, thats why i dont use the digital key anymore even though my platinum came with it free. i would have hated it if payed the $300 to add that feature on the lower trims.

fob works just fine since my 2014 4R

That makes one of us because neither of my fobs work more than 50% of the time. App is about 70%-80%. Had it to the dealership multiple times, no fix. I find this unacceptable for a 75K vehicle. JMHO

fobs work just fine, but i need to go into carista and change the range from normal to long range.

it seems the door handles dont recognize the fob quickly enough that i have to hold the door handle for like 1 sec before the vehicle unlocks.

Not only Toyota. Ford's app is a disaster. Basically useless other than collecting your info.
