Good evening. Quick question about wheels.
I currently have a Limited Hybrid. Stock wheels are 20x8 +55. Tires are 265/55R20. I’m looking at a wheel that’s 17x8.5 +0. Tires will be 265/70R17.

Tires will be almost the same dimension (except the opening for the wheel). So by my crude math I’ll be pushimg the wheel out about 2.5”. Maybe a little more.

Does anyone know how “tucked” the current setup is? If an inch, then I will have about 1.5” of poke, which I could live with.

i also dont intend on lifting, nor do I want to trim anything. will I have issues with the new wheels and tires?

Thanks!

Take a look at Will they fit.com
Basically your poke will increase by the offset difference (55 mm = about 2 inches) plus half the increase in wheel + tire width (I think). So I think your estimate of 2.5” is correct. Some may consider the increase in scrub radius to be a negative in terms of wear on the suspension parts but many here have done similarly. I suspect you will be fine with this. And the tires should fit fine, I think - smaller diameter than stock TRD OR setup. (Which is 265/70r18, so your about 1/2 inch Smaller diameter.)
