this extended axle thing is interesting...because it brings to light that other non oem lifts might actually need these new axles if you are going with something like OME MT64, etc.

I was looking at OME MT64 and a diff drop was included in the quote from a reputable off-road shop to go with the full OME MT64 kit (2135K) - I think the longer (and slightly beefier) axels in the Toyota TRD Lift kit (plus the beefier knuckles) are a better solution for overcoming the CV angle issue. That and the Toyota warranty on the parts and install made the difference for me. If the Bilstein's ever wear out I can imagine replacing with the MT64s.

I thought I had posted the following in this thread but cannot find it above so sharing in case anyone did not see the phot evidence of difference in axels with my TRD ORP Hybrid:

The TRD Lift Kit ( Part Number: PTCCY-89310/89320) does come with axels that are longer than those that came off my TRD ORP.
I do not know whether the THunter/Pro come with the longer axel or not but here is the part number for the axels from the TRD Lift Kit installation guide - you might find the stock THunter part number by searching Toyota parts site to see if its the same.

Yep. Which is why it is crazy to go with any other lift. You cannot beat the value here.
