Hello hoping someone can help me with a bit of a issue I put myself in. I purchased the Alpinse S2-S30 speaker for the dash of my 2025 4Runner Sport thinking that if I like them I would add the rest of the S series speakers. Install went great I buildt my own bracket from ABS sheet and I like they way the sound so I went to purchase the front door speakers next. My thought was that I would purchase each component for the front separately and add to the system as time allows but I didn't realize that the S2-S69 is a two-way speaker and the 6x9 from the S2-S69C is not sold seperately. Looks as though the S2-S80C is only sold as a set as well so I can't just buy the 8" woofer for the front doors.

From what I have read have a tweeter in the door and dash is not idea and will not sound right. I hate to have to buy the S2-S69C's to get the tweeter-less 6x9 and end up paying for a set of dash speakers I don't need (Same goes for the S2-S80C) but if I want everthing to match I guess I'll have to.

Does anyone know if there is another brand of 6x9 or 8" sub-woofer door speaker that will match up with the S30's and be in about the same price range?

Any thoughts on how I can complete buy speaker package?

Thanks!

Try getting the woofers off ebay seperately? If you didn't toss the boxes for the dash speakers, return them and do it the right way.

You really don't want 2 or three way speakers in the doors when you have dash speakers.

Horbit,

Thanks for the suggestion and confirmation the two tweeters will not sound well. I put in a request to send these back and will reorder the components set.

Does anyone one have an opinion on the 6x9 door speakers (S2-S69 ) vs the 8" (S2-S80)?

In this case go with the 8". It should move more air than the 6x9 and circular speakers usually produce a more accurate sound than the oval equivalent models.. Just be sure to get a good mounting plate to cover the gaps. It sounds like you have those skills already.

If the tweeters are truly the same, do you even need to remove the ones you've already installed and likely can't return without taking a hit, if at all? Buy the set, and return that pair of new tweeters, ensuring they are indeed identical and that you include all of the accessories and additional items you received with the first set to the retailer.

Good thought I'll have a close look at them when I get the new ones.
