275/70R17 vs 265/70R17?

Hey there,

I’ll hopefully be picking up a 25” SR5 in about a month (hopefully sooner). The first thing I’d like to change is the tires..

I see a fair amount of posts for 285’s, but not quite as many for 265 or 275? Just wondering if anyone has a pic of either 265/70R17 or 275/70R17 setups for comparison?

I have 265 70 R 17s. They come out at 31.6 inches. I wish I went taller, but like handling and look.

I was about to start a similar thread.

Aside from the weight penalty of 275/70/17, it seems like the best option if using the 17” SR5 wheels and you want to upsize. 265s still leave a lot of room in the wheel wells. 285s shouldn't be mounted on a 7” wide wheel per most manufacturer specs.

Please share pics if you have 275s on SR5 wheels.

These are mounted on the OEM wheels.

Before Westcott Lift with 275/70/17 rides great. This size tire will not rub before or after lift. I have the same size on our 25 Tacoma and stock wheels, still no rub.

Here are mine. 265/70/17. Stock wheels on my SR5. Handling? The same or just as good. Looks: 100% better than stock tires. It’s hard to say if there’s been any difference in the way the car drives or gas mileage. nitro terra grapplers, by the way. What I can say is that I feel more confident about the car’s capabilities as well as a needed (as it is the basic trim level) boost to its esthetics.
