Ok, my first update for my 2025 Hybrid Limited. Pickup from the dealer was easy peasy and nothing unexpected. 60ish mile drive home then I was away for 2 weeks. So it's taken me about a month to get to 2500 miles, so you can guess there was a lot of highway driving. Below are my comments and if I note issues, they are just mine, but nothing earth shattering. Some of these comparisons will be to a new Landcruiser that I test drove many months ago, and some may just be that I haven't learned how to use it yet.
The cargo area and interior just seems smaller than the Landcruiser. I had to move some items that should have fit easily but it was a little struggle. Yes, the battery takes up a lot of space. You don't notice for everyday driving and household errands, but when wanting to pack it up, it is noticeable. I also think the seating comfort of the Landcruiser is nicer. Not that this is uncomfortable, just that the LC was nicer.
My mileage is hovering around 20.5. I did have a couple of tanks that were better, but might have jut been that I didn't fill as full. I have been using Fuelly to track so the data is there. Most of my driving have been highway miles so far. I do wish the gas tank was bigger, as I get an estimated range of just over 350 when I fill up, and this has caused me to stop more often than I would like when I am stacking some trips. As for the transmission setting, I think I've settled on comfort. I noticed with Normal it had rough downshifts when slowing down and then again when trying to accelerate. I may go back and try out the other settings, but for me the Comfort seems to be working. I wish the electric motor had a little more oomph, slightly touching the gas pedal turns on the engine, gets annoying in stop and go traffic. I can keep it on the battery, but then that is too slow for the conditions. I do like when I am slowing down and the engine shuts off and just coasts. The brake hold function works well and I wish it would stay engaged after shutting off the car like it did on my other truck. I haven't tried camping in it yet to see how the battery performs for that. I did notice that there is no DC outlet in the back (not that I've found so far), so I run the cord to one of my coolers up to the front.
At first I did not like the digital rear view mirror as it gave me a weird view and I was disoriented. But after using it, I actually like it now. I took a trip with the back loaded up and it was quite handy. I have a cargo cover, but because the seats can recline, it doesn't go back all the way, and it sits lower than the seat backs, because of this, when the cover is closed, there isn't much vertical space, just enough for a grocery bag. But I guess it does at least hide what's back there and is easy to open up if I need to load more. Little ones and dogs like the rear console AC vent! The infotainment screen is big and bright and so far works pretty well.
I have not towed anything with it yet so I haven't tried out the trailer setup and brake controller.
Overall, I'm happy with it and no gremlins have popped up.
Let me know if you have any questions.
