Speaking to my brother in-law just now who is a sales manager, there has been no talk that they have heard of changes in the line up other than the TRD pro color. He said you could "reserve" one now so that your top of the list when allocations hit.
Yeah...this is what I was also recommended by our dealership for our 4Runner hybrid - retirement gift

It's getting a bit ridiculous that they haven't mentioned the 2026 at all when it's nearly mid-September. When do they plan to release the 2026's? in 2027? Seriously, it's getting frustrating. I turned down two 2025 Trailhunters over the past month thinking the 2026's were coming any minute, and I still haven't heard anything.

26's will come out in Febuary or March. the last 3 toyota's I've bought are that way. I know some brands release 26's in 25
6th gen release in feb was odd ball, typically new year starts production early fall, with new MY arriving on lots around oct-nov.

Are you sure?? That seems insane to start 26 INTO the new year. If I had known, I would've picked up a 25 already. Now I'm not sure what to do. I read it would be by October at the latest
90% of oem's release new MY in october. release's outside of that window is not typical. all it did was shorten the MY for the 6th gen 1st year.
assembly line changeover typically happen in july/august with shipments arriving at dealer in septmeber/october (depending on either usa or japan plant)
dealerdaily change over usually occurs in september when you can no longer order previous year models (system removes the ability to select last year models)
if you have a last year model on your allocation reserve request, you must go in and manually change it to next years, otherwise the system will ignore fulfilling that request (or just delete it after a set time)

If you look at the allocation spread sheet there are 4runners showing all the way out early/mid December arrival dates showing as 2025MY still.
if the 10th digit changes from a "S" to a "T" those will denote a 2026 MY
also production date denotes MY not when its delivered, cause it can take anywhere from 2-3 months or longer to arrive at a dealer.
good example is tires, they can sit in a warehouse for over a year before someone buys it. doesnt change the fact they are over a year old when you buy them and you thinking they are brand new

I just put a deposit on a 2026trd ORP hybrid in heritage blue. (Sept 4th) even though I’m first for this color the sales guy said 6-9 months, closer to 9. This is in bc Canada. Crazy but I was blown away with the powertrain and felt it was much better than my 2019 trd ORP that I sold in April. Going to be a long wait but it gives me time to buy the lift and wheels I’m going to do right away.
just looked at my hybrid excel file, out of the 3859 hybrid vehicles only 309 had temp vin's, meaning they havent even been built. all the rest had valid vin numbers so they have been built. now granted those could be sitting either on lot, at port, in transit or waiting for transit. doesnt change the fact they are 2025 MY
even the valid vins i can see dont have a delivery date until well into late november with a status of factory to port, meaning its hasnt even left japan yet.
i mean you can even take a look at my status from production confirmation (when they decided to even build my specific 4runner trim and specs to build date to ship date etc)
heck they decided they were going to build my specific 4R a month before they even actually built it.

I went to a Toyota dealership in Hamilton, ON where the manager claimed that he can see the ordering guide for the 2026 4Runner. I'm suspicious though, because he wouldn't let me see it. According to him, the 2026 Trailhunter will still be available in Everest, and will not have a HUD nor a sunroof. Can anyone confirm that the 2026 ordering guide is available to dealers?
