Recently picked up a 2025 Trailhunter and so far loving it. Is the JBL Bluetooth speaker supposed to be paired to the truck? Does it work with the built-in system or just pairs to a phone? I wasn’t I able to pair it to the truck, it gives me an error saying Pairng Interrupted.

I have taken mine apart to investigate how it works. We were lucky enough to be able to option our 25 Tacoma SR5 with the JBL complete system, including subwoofer, unlike our 25 4Runner SR5, which gives zero options. The flex speaker charges and plays through the cabin system. You can only pair it to your cell phone. If the speaker is paired to your phone and you plug it into the dock, it shuts off. The dock on the dash is plugged into the dash harness and has pins that engage with the speaker upon pressing it down into the dock. The pic is of the 25 Tacoma SR5 JBL Flex speaker dock. There are five wires shown that are attached to those pins. The pins engage with the speaker when pressing down into the dock. I assume those wires handle the charging and the sound that plays through the system.
