2025 4Runner Off Road Premium - Vibration in wheel at Highway Speeds

Hi Everyone,

I got my dream truck, a 2025 4Runner ORP in Heritage Blue this past Saturday! My first truck, coming from a Subaru Outback.

I have been breaking in the engine, trying to vary load and keep RPMs low and doing a mix of neighborhood, back road and highway driving. Altogether, I have less than 200 miles on the truck. Its beautiful but...

1) When I go up in speed (~70) I notice a shimmy in the steering wheel and a bit in the petals. - I assume this is just a tire balancing but was wondering if everyone had this problem. I have gone from Outback to 4Runner... so could be a truck thing (not a wagon thing).

2) The automatic braking system seems a bit too sensitive for my liking... I want the pre-collision braking, but I do not need it to apply the brakes for me when in traffic or in normal driving conditions.

Anyway, very excited about this vehicle and this community. Hello to all and thanks to anyone who shares advice or expertise.

Congrats on the new ORP!
The shimmy isn't normal and you can hopefully take it back to dealership and get them to Roadforce balance the wheels for you. After many trips, I was able to get two Toyo tires replaced under warranty, and although the vibration isn't completely gone my dealer isn't planning on doing anything more. I understand that changing tires eliminates the problem.

Is this something that I can do at a different dealer, the first one was not exactly coinvent... more had the vehicle I wanted.

I've started a larger thread for people to report vibration issues. We're seeing it on varying trims along with varying tires installed. Evidence is mounting there may be something a bit more going on here...

If you have a vibration, please go in there and discuss what was done to eliminate it if you've found it.
