Hey 4Runner fam, we are currently working on a new rear console trash bin specifically for the 4Runner, but before we go any further, we wanted to run the idea by the forum first to get your honest thought.

We previously designed a similar unit for another vehicle, and I'm wondering if the members here would find this useful.

The Concept:

The trash bin mounts to the lower back of the center console to serve rear passengers. It features dual cup holders and a compartment with a push-to-open lid, which keeps trash hidden and odors contained. The box opens easily for quick cleaning, or it can simply function as general storage if you don't need a trash bin.

Let's paint a couple of pictures:
  • Scenario 1: On a road trip, your rear-seat passengers finish a snack. Wouldn't it be convenient for them to have a spot to toss trash, helping keep the cabin tidy?
  • Scenario 2: Traveling with your furry co-pilot? Could this box serve as a handy spot to stash some kibble or even act as a temporary water bowl, giving your pet a convenient pit stop?
We want to check the forum's interest. Is this something you would actually install, or are you worried it might take up too much legroom? We'd love to hear your thoughts on the demand or other features you'd like to see included.

To say thanks, we’re raffling off our Window Visors. Simply Vote and Like this post to enter! We will pick 1 winner for every 15 participants.

If you make this, I will 100% buy it. I had one similar to this for my Ford Maverick, and I miss it so much. Was thinking of retrofitting it to my 4Runner by 3D printing a FITS hook, but I'd much rather have one that fits properly. Keep me posted if you make it!

I might buy one, depending on the price. Assuming it's easy to yank out when I need to tumble the seats up.
Yeah, our previous rear trash bins for other trucks were designed to be easily removable.

I like it. I rarely ever have a middle passenger in the rear, so this would be a great alternative to the mini trashcan I have in the driver side door.
