I have the Landcruiser skid plate. Itās identical to the TRAILHUNTER skid with two exceptions:
- it says āTOYOTAā vs āTRAILHUNTERā
- it has a straight front edge vs the angular cutouts on the TRAILHUNTER version (this somewhat prevents the chin spoiler from fitting)
I like having TOYOTA in...
In my experience most of the moisture you see is in the seal which is a tad porous. VW window seals are similar.
If it bothers you, you can park it in the sun.
IMHO, this all sounds normal.
Toyota SET installs 265/65R17 nitto ridge grapplers as a port option so I believe 265s are fine. I have the above, and would have preferred 265/70r17 if I could have picked myself. Looks better, more side wall and a more accurate spedo.
If itās cold outside and you park outside it can take a while. Unlike the engine bay there isnāt a lot of heat either.
As itās been mentioned⦠you can check the drain holes.
FWIW, you can often see moisture at the base of the passenger door windows glass as well.
I took my SR5 in for an early oil change, o notes the TSB in the online appointment form.
They were able to knock it out. The said it was pads + hardware and add an hour to the service.
š¤ the noise doesnāt return.
I had mine fall off at the dealership. They washed it (asked them not to), and I didnāt notice till I got home that it was blasted off.
I may try the mod above in this thread or similar to avoid losing it again.
RE: Why not get a ______ trim
For many it's as simple as the 3rd row. The real comparison is SR5 vs Limited. Basically 20k. The SR5 is also the only part time 4WD model. As a second vehicle/beach-truck... A once-in-while-3rd-row was a requirement.
Thatās way more integrated than I expected. Pretty cool.
did you do silicone?
also would like to get your take on the wind noise since youāve lived with both.
I believe if you turn off your auto headlights it will stop it from switching. But then you will have to slum it and turn on your headlights yourself. š¤£
