I just want “auto” on climate control. Otherwise I’m good.

There are basically no off-road or snow reviews or YouTube videos of the SR5. That’s usually nice to see what other people are doing before you drive in. :-)

Now I’m wondering how the SR5 would handle that situation with no drive mode selection available.

I also didn’t think about it much before the thread. It’s considerably louder than all my other cars… but not a problem from my POV. I just tell myself: “that’s what reliability sounds like” 😅

It seems fair to say that the people with the higher trims get less noise. Maybe the Limited, Pro, etc have a better part or it’s better front glass/insulation. But generally a noisy wiper motor sounds “normal” for the 6g part in use. Which is consistent with the valves, turbo, etc… all noisy...

+1 need photos. I didn’t think the ARB rack had any removable seal, grommet, etc

I think folks just prefer all black.

How’s the wind buffeting/noise on the rhino ?

I haven’t seen any reports of this. Any reports of transmission temp warnings have been associated to low speed climbs in summer months. I am assuming airflow isn’t helping much in those situations (slow/low speed).

Stoked it was an easy fix. It happened once on my MKV GTI and it sounded like something was very very wrong.

That’s the one. It’s about 2”. I plan to fabricate a piece if no one makes one soon. Considering a few of them models come with that gap from the factory, I’m thinking it’s a nice-to-have vs a must.

Unless you are handling all your rotations etc, these black lug nuts end up being abused and it eventually it shows. just my 2 cents

I wrote ARB on the silicone topic, here was their response: “generally there is no issue with using the gasket, though if you are concerned, it never hurts to apply some silicone to the mounting points.”

Under body protection is a super easy problem to solve. I have the front protected… no need for the mid/rear yet.

I think the better route would be to get an SR5 and upgrade the car. I have an SR5 with a third row, and the kids love sitting back there. I use it once a week or so. I also prefer the flatter floor.
