If I am tying some camp lights from the roof rack in I presume it doesn't matter which of the 2 fuse boxes under the hood I tie my fuse tap into assuming I have the amperage correct, right?

Any particular reason for not connecting directly (with fuse) to the battery?

Not really. I am obviously new to DIY electronics on the vehicle. The example I read online was tapping into a fuse box so that's all I was building from. Is there any concern connecting directly to the front battery of a hybrid? I had also read the back battery would be ideal for accessories.

I was looking at Prinsu camp lights, they are 4W/0.4A each. When I asked Prinsu about power they responded with "the camp lights would just need power and ground ran into a controller or switch so some 16-guage wire would do." Seemed simple enough, wire to the green Aux 4 pig tail, power and ground it, done.

Actually I am using the pig tail for Aux 4 do I even need to tie to battery? Can't I just wire to the power/ground in the pig tail?

Haven’t checked, but best guess there would only be power to the aux switches when the the car is powered on. Does that match how you plan to use these lights?

On my hybrid there is no front battery btw, the 12v is in accessed from the rear behind the driver side wheel well. There’s actually a stud & nut on top of the positive terminal shoe that looks like it was designed for adding accessories.

I appreciate your help, Shine. I need to think about that.

If your using a fuse tap, you'll probably want to use a circuit with constant power (or wire directly to battery and ground lug), that way you won't have to turn your key on to run your camp lights.

All of the Aux switches only turn on at ACC.
