I changed the Toyo OEMs 265/70/18 to Falkens 285/70/18.

What is the right PSI for the larger tires? assume different to door jam for OEMs.

whatever you are comfortable with based on how you
drive and use them, and what MPG you care about...

as long as you stay within pressure range stamped on sidewall

big tires will thump you harder if you use door pressures
so if all you do is highway, pump them up but expect more road
imperfection feel

use Falken pressure chart to make a decision

Tire rating will dictate ideal pressure. If they're E-rated, it's best to avoid running them too low (35 or under) if you want safe highway speeds.

could always do a chalk test to find the right psi

The "chalk test" is a method to find the ideal tire pressure for your vehicle by observing how a chalk line wears off the tire tread. To perform it, draw a thick chalk line across the tire, drive a short distance in a straight line, and then check the wear pattern. If the chalk wears evenly, the pressure is correct; if the center wears first, the tire is overinflated; if the edges wear first, it's underinflated.

How to perform the chalk test

Prepare the tire: Use a thick piece of chalk to draw a line across the width of the tire.

Drive straight: Drive the vehicle in a straight line for about 50 to 100 feet.

Check the wear pattern:

Even wear: The chalk should be gone across the entire tread, indicating proper pressure.
Center wear: If the chalk only wears off in the center, the tire is overinflated.
Edge wear: If the chalk wears off along the outer edges but not the center, the tire is underinflated.

Adjust and repeat: Adjust the tire pressure in small increments based on the wear pattern. If you need to lower pressure, let some air out; if you need to raise it, add air. Repeat the test until the chalk wears evenly across the entire tread.

My 35's currently have 40 PSI in them. I got them like that when I picked it up from the shop, not loud, but might tinker with 35 PSI.
