This is my second t4r, previously owned a 5th gen, but I go between a t4r and Wrangler every couple of years. I had reservations placed at four different Toyota dealers around me and I happen to find this one listed at a local dealership on FB marketplace. It was just finished being built and loaded onto the boat when I put the deposit down. Thankfully I was able to modify the port installed features and took about a month to get to the dealership.

I've had it now for over a week and I absolutely love it. Love the torque and all the technology, I'm coming from a 392 JL and I honestly don't miss the Jeep.

Mods so far:
  • Toyota Red Tow Hooks
  • Westcott Designs Low Profile Rack
  • Gobi Ladder
Mods in route:
  • RCI Sliders
  • 23Zero 90 Degree Awning + Room
  • Lasfit Liners
Pictures don't do it justice for the color and how it looks in person. Excited about this first round of mods and getting it out there for the summer road trips. Really surprised the need for sliders, the t4r is a little harder to get into compared to my 392 on 37s.

Looks awesome! I wanted the mud bath so bad, but for whatever reason, Toyota doesn’t offer the cockpit red interior with the mud bath exterior. Couldn’t pass up the red interior, already planned to get PPF, hoping I can just wrap it the mud bath color or something really close to it at the very least.

Looks good man!

I really like the front bumper from nytop. Did you have to trim off that plastic part in the instructions before installing?

DUNZO,
No cutting or trimming required to install the NYTOP hybrid front bumper. That’s why I went with their product.

Yeah I was hoping that was the case but I seen this section in the installation manual.

Picked up an AJT Design key fob during their 4th of July sale... a huge improvement to the factory key

I also got my Lasfit liners and finally installed them. I echo all of the positive reviews that have been given on these.

My RCI Offroad sliders came in, but FedEx beat the packages to hell and the sliders were damaged. Thankfully RCI has amazing customer service and they're shipping another set to me. Not sure if they'll be here before my big road trip up the Northeast at the end of the month.

Installed RCI sliders (20 degree) and a 128L Roam storage box before a family road trip up to the Northeast. RCI's customer service was great helping resolve issues with shipping damages to the sliders

Pic of everything at the start of our journey up to Acadia National Park. Really enjoyed having the extra storage space with the Roam box. Really surprised that there wasn't a lot of wind noise with it on the rack

Made a pit stop at LL Bean's HQ in Freeport

At the end of the trip, we ended up driving through 12 different states and racked up 2200 miles. No issues with the 4runner, the family was comfortable and we had plenty of space. Surprised how my fuel economy didn't change much with all the additional weight and gear.
