Long Term Storage

I want to store my 4Runner 6 months. I plan to put the 12v battery on a trickle charger. My understanding is that the hybrid battery will be fine if charged every 2 months by running the engine or driving the car for 30 minutes. Comments?

I really don’t think ANY hybrid is a good choice for long term storage. I think The Car Nut may have covered this in a past youtube video.

If this is personal preference for cars I really have no comment, but if this is a situation where you could not drive for 6 months, id probably give it to a buddy or family member and tell him to put a dozen or so miles on it every couple weeks with some simple driving up to operating temps.

I didnt buy a 4runner to let it sit and I take it offroad to get some dings anyway, and ever since my friend who works from home and goes nowhere had his tacoma wiring harnesses chewed through by rodents, which apparently is common on new toyotas that dont get driven, I figured the best route to keep the car in good shape is actually just to drive it and always have someone or urself inspect it, especially considering the battery aspect of things.

Might be weird but I guess i trust my friends/brother/family more than i do myself setting up a trickle charger correctly and hoping no rodents get in there.
