Has anyone else tried this? I have had ZERO noise from the brakes since I applied the anti-seize to the brake pads at all 4 corners.

This is such an easy thing to try. If the noise is making you dislike the 4Runner give this a try.

I park my 4Runner in the garage. I would hear the squeal when backing up in the morning or when parked for a few hours. I have not taken it in for the TSB since it doesn’t seem to solve the problem.

Last week I had all the wheels off to spray the frame with Fluid Film, and I figured would try and solve the brake squeal myself. I wanted to try resolving the brake squeal with anti-seize.

I took the brake pads out and put anti-seize between the pads and shims and between the shims. I also put anti-seize on all contact points. I did this to all 4 corners. When I pulled them out I did notice that some of the shims seemed loose and were not held tight to the brake pad. If I had to guess, the squeal is coming from that loose shims. With anti-seize applied it keeps the shims and brake pads together.

I have drove everyday since I have add the anti-seize to the brake pads and I have not heard any noise since then. I am putting this out there for others to try.

I would like some feedback by others.

If it's still working for yours it seems like great thing to try for the folks out there with mechanic tools and skills. If a few more people try it and it works I would even consider picking some up and asking Toyota maintenance if they can do it the next time my tires are rotated.

I just had Toyota fix it for free at my 10k service. Almost 10k more miles on the truck and haven't heard a peep out of the brakes since.

That's awesome! I was in for my 5K service a couple months ago and they told me the kits are on backorder, possibly until next year:/

My dealer said he had 130 stacked up waiting on mostly rotors, but since my TH is 4WD, I just needed the pads and shims. He had those and swapped them for me.

Glad to hear that the replacement parts are actually solving the problem. Back in November nothing was fixing the issue. I wanted to give my idea a try. To my surprise it took care of the noise. I like do as much maintenance and repairs as I can do myself. And I will continue to do so on my 2025 SR5 as long as I can.

Same. I regretted bringing mine in for the 10k. They cross-threaded two of my skid plate bolts and I had to re-tap them. I'll just keep doing the changes myself.
