@climbv1 Can you take and post pics of the top of your tire fully seated. I’ve posted a bunch of info and pics on fitting a 285/70/18 KO3 into the spare cradle and the front brackets definitely had to be modified. From your pic, your tire is hanging way lower than mine at the rear, so if...
Mine was changed. Keep telling myself it’s quieter, but honestly thought it would make more a difference than it did. Maybe it’s just a frequency that bothers some more than others?
Not sure the possibility I got two loud ones in a row, but surprises me that others say theirs is totally...
Suggest you use the search function to dig into what’s already on the site about what people have fit. You also need to decide whether you want to fit a same size spare in the undermount carriage. Wheel offset will also impact what fits without rubbing or mods, in addition to scrub radius and...
Here's my take from everything posted, including my own experience. I'm thinking the profile of the actual tire you're installing is very relevant.
32.6" stock obviously fits fine. pic at front bracket attached for reference of how stock tire sits.
33.5" Toyo AT3 fits per MPS2026. photos...
Totally agree the new wiper motors are way too noisy. Drives me crazy. Seems to be the right noise level, or frequency, or something to penetrate my brain. Please post if you have any luck with options to resolve.
Left coast too, so rain is a sure thing.
Nice work on reading what’s already on the forum. Which means you may have come across some of my posts on a very similar setup. I have TRD ORP with same +45 offset TRD upgrade wheels. I went with 285/70/18 K03s.
I do have a 3/8” spacer (Greenlane), and while I did not try the wheel/tire...
Unfortunately there’s only one real answer to your question. Aluminum is strong. Steel is stronger.
No one will be able to say aluminum is strong enough for every situation that you decide to put your 4Runner in. I’d give Greenland a call or send them an email. They are super helpful, and...
I would think so. A couple things to consider. The 285/75/17 is about 3mm (around 1/8”) larger than the 285/70/18. I don’t think that would be the difference between fit and no fit, but just so you’re aware. The bigger consideration may be in the actual tire you plan to go with. The...
I think your first decision is steel or aluminum. Steel stronger for rougher stuff, aluminum still capable but not as strong. Aluminum won’t rust like steel. Next decision is whether you want an integrated step or just the slider.
I went with Greenlane aluminum with step and love them...
Same as chouser. Mine doesn’t seem to blow enough air. Couldn’t cool things enough when really hot and not as fast as my 5th gen to heat things up quickly in the cold.
Agree with Dead Horse that steering wheel doesn’t heat as much as other vehicles (temp and consistency of temp over the...
I run a BFG K03. All the detail is in the thread I referenced in my earlier response. KO3 is 33.7. AT4W is 34. And I agree, and referenced in my post, that the 1/4” would make a difference.
So, yes, your comment is fair. Would be great if threads discussing the same topic were linked.
