lol you guys put way to much effort into this.

since day 1 on my 2014, i ran it thru car washes. and 12 yrs later the paint was fine (as long as you didnt scrutinize it beyond casual looks. yes it had 12 yrs of swirl marks, but still original paint, never was in any accident)

did i care nope. did i still get a decent trade in yep. got 19k trade in on a 12 yrs old 120k mileage 4R.

granted the dealer tried to sell it at 24,995, then dropped it to 23,994 and now its currently at 22,995

Here are my mods:
1st mod and most useful/quality changing- Smaller wheels, bigger tires made a huge difference in reducing/eliminating my motion sickness in the car.

Yeah the interior light bulbs are usually the first mod I make with my cars.
100% Agree here. I wish I had done the tire swap earlier on my 5th Gen Limited. Highly Recommended.

- I would also recommend the PPF and Tint, again from personal experience. I had those added to my 6th gen immediately.

Maybe not MODS so much as additions:

- I have loved my Prinsu Roof Racks in all my 4runners. Not cheap but really helps with everything from hauling lumber, to roof tops tents, and cargo.

- I also have loved my molle panels in the back cargo area to help get clutter off the mat and up on the windows. I am a big fisherman so I have suncreen, bugspray, spools of fishing line, hatchet, wading belt, flashlight, shop towels, fire extinguisher, rain jacket, etc. all on the panels.

- I also brought over my interior fly rod hanger system I built for the 5th gen and installed in the 6th gen but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet as we've been in ice fishing mode.

Indeed. I went n got an arb roof rack which is great but doesn’t currently have any exterior molle panel options. One thing to consider if that’s something you plan on doing
Yep. I want molle panels. I have the Prinsu Pro rack.

How does that work? The options on the etsy site confuse me ;)

The stock charger doesn't do much of anything so I am interested!
It's a MagSafe and connected to the usb c on the right side, that actually fast charges the phone.

The charge mat that is currently in the 4Runner is more like a trickle charger and charges very slow.

Gotcha, OK. I see now that the USB-C plugs in to the front in one of the two available ports. Thank you!

I'm with you. My 2013 Tundra has known nothing but car washes with brushes and no PPF since new. Once you're that old and up over 180k miles, the condition of the paint doesn't take a single dollar off the resale. And I've never had to stress over it. If I were the type to trade/buy every 2-3 years, I still wouldn't care, because the cost of PPF is higher than the slight reduction in resale value.

Low stress life for me plz LOL

Hello everyone,

I bought my first 4Runner limited hybrid 2025. I love this car, especially over my Venza which I traded in. It is definitely a gas guzzler, but I do not mind that fact.

I wanted to reach out to see what can I do to this car? I ordered a screen protector and have a dash cam, was thinking of getting wheel locks, mud guards, and the light up logo as well as hood struts. I want my interior to be nice, so was wondering what interior lighting options may be out there! (RGB)

Really happy with the car, I had to drive 400 miles to get back home, it averaged 19, but my speed was mostly above 75.

Also, my first 4Runner; TRD PRO.

Modifications so far:
  • Window tint
  • Well Visor window deflectors
  • Red Toyota front tow hooks
  • BeatSonic plug-in play amplifier
  • Sound deadening in front and rear doors
  • Premium horn upgrade
  • 14" Multimedia screen protector
