Wow really impress after we received a foot of snow on icy road. Coming from the Subaru world I am really happy to have switch for Toyota. I am running on 265/70r17 Bridgestone winter really happy with it.

4runner does great for 'I'll run the snowblower later, right now I'm headed out'

Subies and Rav4's, not so much

depends on the subie setup. on my 2010 subie legacy 3.6R awd with locking center torsen diff, it was the same as the 4runner limited ft4wd torsen setup.

also depending on audi version, if you get the haldex setup its technically an fwd with simulated awd vs a true 4wd setup in the quattro series.

What a waste of time comment! Sorry I had to use my measuring tape in the picture!
I thought exactly the same after clicking on the "Title bait" or 1ft of snow. More like 1/4" snow in the second picture. I'd like to see it in 12 inches of snow with ice layers on the bottom :)

Well my friend the picture with a 1/4 inch was the beginning of the storm we received 30 cm so if you put it in inches it’s really close to 12 inch whicht his a foot. Yes I did tried it in deep snow and it was great.

Yep, it's quite a rush to drive through deep virgin snow. My 5th Gen can handle about 16" of fresh snow max as long as it's not wet snow. The front end lifts and it feels like a boat...but you lose steering so you need to get the speed (maybe 15 mph) just right and stopping might not always be the best idea. In first pic I have to guess where the 2-track is between 2 plowed fields because if the ground isn't frozen and you drop a wheel into a plowed field it will be a problem. 2nd pic is barely deeper than the ground clearance since I won't stop in the deepest drifts and I'm still gonna park downhill if I stop. My Subaru would get thoroughly stuck as soon as I used up the ground clearance.

Enjoy! It's a beast all the time.

i use to love doing that, but as i have gotten older, the unbalanced wheels with packed snow is something i dont care to clean out anymore :)

That makes sense and makes me smile since my almost-every-day offroad destination is my neighbor's farm 1/4 mile away, so I never get over 15 mph and then it melts in the garage...proving once again that you really don't have to clean a silver 4Runner ever. I have an obligation to create walking paths for folks in the neighborhood. I think the most impressive thing to me is getting over/through the plowed bank of hard packed snow and ice just to get onto the farm...where I'll gently nose in maybe 4-6 times to pack it down some and then go over a 2 foot or so mound and almost never scrape even lightly. All good fun and the farmer will rescue me with a tractor if I do something extra stupid. ;)

yeah classic silver hides dirt like no other color. i remember my 2010 subie legacy 3.6R in silver. i mean i once went like 6 months without a car wash and you really couldnt tell it was dirty unless you got up close.

and unfortunately i dont have a heated garage so the only melting is from the engine heat as long as its above 0F

I carry a shovel in winter 'cuz it's happened where I float right up onto deep snow
and tires no longer reach the ground...so need to get out and dig a lot and let tires fall down to some kind of traction

...and I'll effen do it again...
