Many TH owners have ‘plugged’ or otherwise mitigated the snorkel noise. I’m considering converting/modifying my TH airbox to a TRD Pro airbox. I think only three parts are needed: (1) Hose from the bottom of the airbox (where the rubber cap has been removed) (2) Inlet basket (3) Four clips.

For the TACO, the part numbers are as follows:
  • PTR03-35241-AE TACO Coupling Kit
  • 17752-AK010 Inlet ‘Basket’
  • 90467-07217 Clips (4)
Does anyone know if these same parts work on the 2025 4Runner?

Curious to see if it's possible to "make" a plug for the inside for each one so it can be alternatively removed : wife aboard - no wife aboard scenario.
What I mean by that is that the TH setup remains the same so no red plug on the outside of the box. Just add the elbow and basket w/ clips from PRO and you end up with both setups.
We can switch back and forth by just plugging one or the other.
(on picture below: Left is plugged by factory rubber where mod parts would go. Right is the TH inlet.)

A simple solution to your desired bi-setup:
1) When wanting to use the snorkel, keep the 'lower plug' in place.
2) When not wanting to use the snorkel, shove a sponge or 6" nerf ball (works really well!) into the snorkel hole and remove the lower plug.

Downside is that you have to remove the air filter to make a change over.

Interesting. Yes I imagine the downside is to remove air filter to make the change, but it might be worth it for some family trips in cool weather.
The downside of just removing the plug is that your sucking hot air from engine bay. So adding the TRD elbow and tray PLUS the nerf ball might be the way. Just swap it around!
