This is what I found:
The original filter is still available from various dealers, see screen shots below.
For what it is worth, āAIā said the following:
Toyota part 17801-0P051 and 17801-YZZ11 are interchangeable OEM engine air filters, but with a few key distinctions regarding manufacturing...
Just read your last post. Yep, they screwed up!
If you ordered the TRD Coupling Kit (PTR03-35241-AE) $111.18, from Sparks Toyota, that is not what they sent you. It appears they attempted to āmakeupā the Coupling Kit by sending you PTR03-35240-AA, $109.33 (old part # PTR03-35241-AB) Cleaner...
Pic #4 shows two 'caps' (one red and one black). The red cap comes with the Coupling Kit (PTR03-35241-AE). The black cap comes with the truck (located on the bottom/side of the air box, it needs to be removed to install the red elbow).
Hope this helps!
When I ran ābothā I was trying to say I had both the TRD and TH snorkel inlets open to the air filter, no codes.
For my day in and day out running, I block the TH snorkel.
Not a dumb question!
Yes, skid plates are a must in most deep snow situations.
1). While the snow can be soft "Champagne Powder ", you never know if there is a large hard chuck of ice or a rock imbedded in the snow. In my case living in the mountains, we get rocks rolling onto the road on a...
I made the TRD Pro mod 4 or 5 months ago. I ran both the āSnorkelā and āTRD Proā mod open for a while with no problems. However, like you, I wanted the TH except the snorkel. So I run with the TRD Pro mod all the time now (I blocked the snorkel in the air box with foam).
Having lived at this location for 25 years, I know if the snow conditions are "Sierra Cement", and as Nodak pointed out, packing the wheels can be a real problem!
Even with āUtah Champagne Powderā, and as 127.0.0.1 pointed out, floating up is an issue. In this case, I was āfeelingā the float as...
It snowed 20ā while at work yesterday and normally under those conditions when I get home, I walk up the driveway and grab the plow truck. Well, I was ālazyā and said what the hell! I wanted to see just how far I could get up the driveway. To my surprise, I made it on the second attempt! Two...
There are numerous threads discussing this issue. You might read the posts at: https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/6th-4runner-trd-pro-1st-2nd-gear-shift-issue.6503/
Thanks for sharing your oil analysis!
Historically, I have used an OCI of 7,500 miles, for the ~million miles I have put on (4) 4runners, with no problems.
Disclaimer: Iām not an oil expert like āThe Motor Oil Geekā and Iām not suggesting, encouraging or telling anyone to follow what I do...
Hoover Toyota and others, are showing a 25% parts discount until the end of the week. However, I can't seem to get the 25% discount to 'stick' for the rear tow hook (PT974-89251-03).
If anyone sees a Sale, let us know!
More of the same:
Yes, a turbo blanket can potentially help with turbo spooling while keeping everything else under the hood cooler. A lot of people use turbo blankets with no issues, useless there is an oil leak! In which case there is a fire hazard. However, the improvements are very small...
I like the TH for all it is. However, the snorkel had to go, so I added the TRD Pro air intake (OEM).

Apparently, there are different 'versions' of the 2025 4Runner Ownerās Manual (possibly hybrid, non-hybrid) or at least updated editions.
At the bottom of page 1 of the manual you provided a link too, the manual version is: Owners Manual_USA_M35B85_en. This manual does not include information...
MartyMcFly: I'm installing the same
Marty McFly: I'm installing the same lights. Did you disconnect the battery first? Seems like disconnecting the battery is not needed since you connected to the Aux 4 switch, that was in the 'off' position.
When it comes to changing differential fluids, itās much like changing engine oil. The first thing you need to ask yourself is how long do you intend to keep the vehicle?
If you swap vehicles at 60-70,000 miles, then just follow the Ownerās Manual āRecommended Serviceā or āSpecial Operating...
