Here is my SR5 with a few upgrades.
Loving the 4Runner so far. I'm coming from a 2003 Toyota Tacoma xtra cab 4wd that I loved but the frame was literally crumbling due to rust. The new 4Runner is a huge improvement. Happy with the upgrades except for the sound proof mat which I am neutral on. Didn't notice much of a difference in sound compared to not having it but nothing negative necessarily.

Next upgrade is a roof rack to throw luggage on for roadtripping, some basic camping gear, and the occasional Home Depot run to transport larger items. I use a roof top bag to transport luggage and miscellaneous items when traveling and it has worked great on my Rav4. I want a roof rack that is low profile and will grow with my needs. The Prinsu is top on the list. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Here is a link to the roof top bag that I use - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GLY3XF1?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

Looks great, really like the appearance without mud flaps or running boards / steps.

I see your using the stock SR5 wheels, which I like. I did read that you cannot go with too big a tire because of the rim size. I think 7" was quoted. Many of the larger sizes and not recommended from a stability/safety standpoint. Did your tire installer comment on this?

I just checked Tirerack using the online tire selector. Put in the SR5 details and it does not list a tire wider for the 17" rim.

Interesting. I'm going to follow up on this and do some more research.

I had 3 shops give me quotes and saw what wheels were on there during the quote. The tire shop I went with is reputable but maybe an oversight. Nothing was communicated to me.

I haven't noticed any odd driving or issues. I have taken them on the highway at 80mph and did some easy/mild off-roading without issues.

Thanks for feedback!

I am also anxious to know for sure. I did a little research in February when the 4R was so new, no one had good info. I expected Tirerack to have information now but it's limited unless I change the wheels. Let me know what you find.

Those tires look great! Have you noticed any major impact on MPG? How are the dealer-installed heated seats, and do you have any pictures of where they put the switch?

Next time I pass the tire shop I purchased these from I'll ask them.
Take this with a grain of salt, it is a response from chatgpt to my question "Do Falken Wildpeak A/T4W in LT275/70R17 6ply load C fit on the stock 17 inch wheels on a 2025 Toyota 4Runner SR5?"
I haven't confirmed any of this response but my experience is that it is usually in the ball park of accuracy.

Response: "Short answer: Yes—those will mount on the stock SR5 wheels and generally clear at stock ride height.

Why it works

  • Stock SR5 wheel: 17Ă—7" (+55 mm). 4Runner6G
  • Your tire: Falken Wildpeak A/T4W LT275/70R17 C (6-ply)—spec’d for 7–8.5" rims; overall diameter about 32.2". That means it’s approved for a 7" factory wheel. TireSize+1
  • Stock tire size: most 2025 4Runners on 17s run 265/70R17 (~31.6"), so 275/70R17 is only ~1.9% taller (speedo will read ~1.9% slow). "

No major impacts. I have notice a mile maybe two mpg difference. But I also took off the air dam at the same time. I have not been diligently watching my mpg usage. All I knew is that the cheap-o stock tires that come on the SR5 needed to go. Toyota should be embarrassed for putting those things on.

The heated seats are great. Something that should have come stock but I guess this is the world we live in now. Cost me $600. I'm sure they could be done cheaper if you looked around and didn't go through a dealer. They mounted them right under the arm rest latch. No cables in the compartment, it fits in-between that space. Pretty slick.

Agreed. From what I saw, pre-production SR5s that the media saw included heated seats; however, that feature was later removed (likely to encourage people to purchase a higher trim). That's a good location and clean install. I live in Colorado and may end up adding these as well. Thanks for the photo.

No need to ask AI about this. 🤦🏻‍♂️

You can look up the approved rim widths on Falken’s (or any manufacturer’s) website. OP’s 275/70/17 is fine for 7-8.5” wide wheels. The problem with going wider on SR5 wheels (285) is that you need minimum rim width of 7.5”.

People are mounting 285s on SR5 wheels, but its not recommended by the tire manufacturers.
