Carista not actually disabling the seat belt warning?

Hey all,

I’ve had little issues with getting my new 4Runner all set up the way I want and disabling all the annoyances via the dash settings or Carista., However the one thing that I can’t get to work is turning off the annoying beeps that happen when you get into the truck and don;t have your seatbelt on yet. Carista says it’s disabled, and I even tried enabling and turning it off again. But the 4Runner still screams at me if I get in and start it without the seatbelt latched.

(and yes, I always wear my seatbelt when driving, but sometimes I need to turn the truck on and get the AC going while trying to get the dog in)

then you probably need to send an email to carista support since they are not fulfilling the functionality of the app

toyota may have changed the pid on the new 4R vs other new toyota's so it may be misconfiguration on carista's part

Yep, already contacted them. Just curious if anyone else has run into this as I’ve seen a few people here mention using Carista for this.

I disabled it with a Launch bi-directional programmer from aliexpress, x431 or something like that, $115 but no subscription and no limits. It disabled the continuous alarm but it does still do 5 dings once every time at first.

So I printed a simple pacifier that plugs into the buckle, now no alarm at all.

I’m using the veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ Bluetooth OBD II Scanner with Carista App and don’t have any problems.

I’m using the veepeak as well, still get those beeps initially when I get in the car though. Hmm,

turned off driver and front passengers and it’s silent I don’t have any problems

Carista worked fine on mine. No more annoying dings

i used this with carista app and it worked fine, i never hear the 5 initial dings. Also unplugged the backseat wires to eliminate the annoying backseatbelt sign on the dash during startup
