Hey all,
I have a 4Runner ORP due to arrive in a couple weeks and I’m just shopping for some winter tires and wheels to swap out for the snowy months. Currently driving a ‘22 Tacoma OR and one of my biggest complaints about it is that every time I switch between my winter and summer wheels, I have to bring the truck into a shop to get rid of the annoying tire pressure warning due the different tire pressure sensors. Annoying when I can easily swap the wheels myself at home, so usually I just live with it.
I see in the 4Runner online manual that we can now assign two different tire sets and switch between them ourselves right from the dash. Does anyone know if I need to have actual Toyota TPMS for this, or will it work with whatever TPMS Discount Tire installs when they mount the winter tires to my new wheels? Pretty big difference in price compared to the factory TPMS, so trying to avoid buying those (or a sensor reset device) if I don’t need to.
Thanks!
