Has anyone been able to get their memory seats to work? I’m following the instructions in the manual and they don’t seem to work. After setting the memory, I move the seat a little and then press the button to return it to the memory position and it doesn’t move.

The seats also beep every few inches when moving them, which im not sure if they’re supposed to do or not

its sad how many times i see people asking this, its like dealers lately have been skipping proper PDI before releasing a new vehicle to a customer across the whole country

kinda funny how many people dont even try to read the manual that explains the same steps on how to do this but jump into a forum and wait for an answer

It’s even funnier that you say this but it’s not in the manual under “driving position memory”

To be fair, as someone who likes reading manuals and often does before even buying something, the 4Runner manual is a bit shit in how it explains things. Not easy to find things either.

I learned how to do it a dozen or so Toyotas ago. That being said you don't think of it until you are driving and see the buttons. Most people aren't going to pull over and break out the manual. BTW I'm old enough to remember the manual being a single book with about 50 pages in it. Now it's an encyclopedia that practically needs its own trailer to haul it around. It's not unusual to find an answer on a forum quicker than reading the manual.

The last issue I had was turning off the stability control on a 2013 Rav4. When going up my driveway in snow the brakes would come on as I would go around a corner because the tires were spinning. I didn't realize that I needed to hold the button longer than I was. So I was just turning off the traction control. In the middle of the night breaking out the manual and spending a half hour wasn't going to happen. Pulling fuses for the ABS worked. The next day at work I asked mainly because I didn't have the manual at my desk. Other things I have asked about really aren't covered in the manual very clearly (if at all). Some of the dash lights for example. The manual might have a name for the light but no description.

the Toyota system is a bit quirky, to be fair. Less intuitive than many other makes that we own.

I've found that if you call up the memory positions while still in park and before driving off, it's pretty consistent. However if you try to call up the memory settings while driving, it does nothing but beeps. frustrating.

yeah the reason it bloated, lawyers covering toyota's butt from stupid people.

there is so much warnings in that book that i think the book is warnings with a splash of actual info.

yeah lawyers liability

if in motion, block any functionality. head unit navigation comes to mind.

and this has been the norm since my 2014 4R.

cant mod the navigation route, cant change memory seating position via the pre-set numbers (but you can set a pre-set while driving) cant change some of the TSS settings while driving either
