Hi all, creating this thread to share my thoughts, questions, reviews, and the build.

Extremely happy that I got to pick up the 4R yesterday. Not gonna lie—after it landed at port on 3/3 and got delayed for almost a month, I was starting to lose interest. I was also a bit anxious, since this will be my first Toyota and my first overlanding vehicle. Coming from owning a 2022 BMW X3M Comp, and currently having an E46 M3 and a 2023 G80 M3 in the garage, I knew I’d be comparing power, build quality, etc.

But man, seeing the 4R at the dealership and driving it home for roughly 35 miles—this truck is an amazing vehicle. It might not have the power of my sports cars, but there’s enough power for what it is. The build quality is honestly impressive, and I love how sporty and tight the cockpit feels. On the way home, it was getting a lot of attention and thumbs up—definitely has road presence.

Advice for new and upcoming owners:
Make sure to tell your dealership not to wash the vehicle and to leave the protective covers on. Otherwise, they may end up damaging the paint.

For now, I’ll be giving it its first wash and decontamination. Then it’ll be heading out for full front PPF, including the gloss black parts. After that, the mods will start going on.

Please enjoy some crappy iPhone pics, and let me know if you guys have any questions.

Can you tell me what cargo liner you ended going with? I have some furry friends as passengers as well for my pro

Hi all, it’s been a while—just checking back in. I took the rig on an 800-mile camping round trip. Filled up twice and averaged about 23 mpg. I love everything about this 4R…it’s such a capable vehicle!

Our setup with Bam bed and Luno airfoam mattress. Let me tell you, we slept like a baby on this bed. Highly recommended.

Then after the trip…put on TE37 wheels (0 offset) and Wildpeak 35s (actually 34.5" in 295/70/18). Amazing set of wheels and tires. Truly complete the rig imo.

I was out for my birthday dinner and meeting up with a fellow owner to sell the TRD wheels. Officer C stopped by and asked if he could check out the 6th-gen 4R. He has a 5th-gen and said he loves the new generation.

Hi! Are those the 35x11.5 at4s? The tes are +22 offset? Stock lift? Any rub? Out of curiousity, does the tire actually measure to 35? My 34s per falken’s website actually only measure a little over 33. Great build!

Thank you and it is 295 70 18 and offset is 0. So it’s not a true 35s but very close. Just measure it and it’s currently sitting at 34.5”. Wildpeak tends to be in the bigger size so prepare for that. Stock lift for now on trdpro fox suspension. There was rubbing but after the normal modifications. No more rubbing, it’s a very aggressive setup.

Normal modifications as in removed crash plate?

Also, unreal garage - congrats
With this setup, you’re going to need to remove the crash plate, maybe trim the corner of the fenders by the crash plate less than half of an inch, would need an inch raise to clear the front bumper at full lock.
