It's a gas milage regulation thing, I think tests show you loose 0.7 MPG by removing it.

The only function it has is getting caught up on something to just be pulled down and damage the bumper cover. Plus it is hideous IMO

Maybe for you hardcore off-roaders, but as I approach the shopping mall in my pavement princess, I like the air dam there.

Picked up my Heritage Blue Limited Saturday morning... Drove 1169 miles over the weekend home. Upon arriving home I: removed the dealer's sticker (which wasn't even put on straight), installed hood struts, and installed the rear cargo LED's. Off to a good start.
