Hey All,

I took possession of my Limited allocation yesterday wanted to post some photos as well as my initial impression of the vehicle.

I had initial concerns about the 4 cylinder turbo, but it has plenty of power and giddy up. getting up to speed on they highway is not difficult at all.

the AVS suspension is really nice, however due to the 20 in wheel i do feel the road in city driving a bit more than my previous jeep grand cherokee. once i have ran through these initial tires i will look to get something with a bit taller sidewall, but that being said the ride on the highway and city is extremely smooth.

i think i need to break in the suspension a little more, as i continue to drive, it seems to be getting a little softer

Compared to my 2012 Grand Cherokee it has more of a “truck” feel

The leather seats are extremely comfortable as well as the driving position of them. the heated and ventilated seats are a really nice touch, this is my first vehicle with them, so i cannot compare it to others, but in my opinion they are great.

there was speculation about the non-hybrid Limited not having 4 low or a center locking diff, I can confirm it has both

I have not tried the different drive modes yet but will follow up once i have tried the Sport and comfort modes, i would be curious to see if the comfort mode softens up the suspension enough to erase more of the bumps felt driving around in the city. - will test and confirm later

-Update i have tested both comfort mode and sport mode

comfort mode does have a noticeable difference in the ride, the suspension softens up to erase more of the bumps in the road

sport and sport+, the suspension stiffens as well as the steering making it ideal for highway driving

while its not the "Off Road" focused model i have no doubts that it would be able to handle off road trails with ease... I'm not trying to go rock crawling with it but it should handle moderate trails if you wanted to take it on them, i would recommend bigger tires and a better skid plate first though. - im planning to take her to the trails some time this weekend to see the capability.

my only dislike is the Auto Stop Start feature... but it can be turned off at the press of a button and as some one has already posted there is an easy mod to turn off ASS on engine start.

If you have questions feel free to ask ill do my best to answer what i can.

Amazing. I have a deposit down on a black Limited and I've been looking for photos of a Limited period in the wild to no avail. Congratulations and thank you for posting this!

Good looking 4runner. Nice to see what that 5th button on the center console is for, the auto start stop off button. Crazy how much more room there is without the battery in the cargo compartment.

i really dont understand where people got the idea there would be no 4L on a 4wd system in a toyota (whether is was part time 4wd or FT 4wd)

that has been standard practice on any toyota 4R 4wd system since like the 80s.

the only time you wouldnt have a 4L is if the system was strictly 2wd only

in think it was just how toyota had initially stated it in their press release, and not showing a low gear on the comparison chart.

Beautiful and makes me more excited about getting my Limited.

I'm willing to bet good money that the FT 4WD system in the 6th gen is the same one that's in the 5th gen and probably even the 4th gen. Toyota has been using the Torsen limited slip center diff in their full time 4WD products since 1990. Where it gets interesting is that Torsen is owned by a Japanese company called JTEKT and JTEKT is owned by...the Toyota Group.

Does the limited headlights have any etching on it that says "Limited" like how the TRD Pro and Trailhunter does?

I was looking into upgrading the headlights on my TRD ORP when I get it.

I think you will enjoy the comfort setting. I have it in my 25 Tacoma Limited and it makes a difference. It's not night and day difference but you can tell. It especially helps when the dealer doesn't have the tires inflated to 55 psi like mine were on delivery.

Looking Great! ?

I'm on the waiting game for a Limited Underground.

What's the spare tire and wheel actual size/spec? Based on the paper sheet it's not a full sized spare.
