Just wondering what uses people have thought of for the optional bank of 4 AUX switches.

I'm wondering how you tap into them? Its there a power bar or something that you wire into? I should have my TRD Pro in 2 weeks and will find out then, but have been wondering, none the less.

Looking at mine, and at the manual, it's actually a different system than in the Tacoma. There are four different places to plug into, including one under the dash. I also did not find any pigtails included in the glovebox or anywhere else in the car.

The 4Runner hybrid has 2 plugs in the engine compartment and 1 under the dash. There is one more but I'm not sure where it is yet. You half to purchase the pigtails separately from Toyota.

I don't have the factory pre-wired AUX Switches on my TRD Off-Road Premium Hybrid, but I do plan to install some OEM switches like the ones from CaliRaisedLED to control the following equipment:

2025 Toyota 4runner What are you using AUX switches for? _W0A3544-Edit

Switch 1: 40" RIGID SR-Series Midnight Optics light bar that will be mounted behind the half-height wind fairing on a Sherpa Capitol platform roof rack.

Switch 2: Clear and amber fog lights that will go into a C4 Fabrication Lo-Pro Bumper (like this one for the 4th Gen Tacoma) once they become available. They will likely be Baja Designs S2 Pros.

Switch 3: Scene lighting primarily for use in camp. These will be the Baja Designs LED Dome Light with Switch, which will be mounted in the side rails of my Sherpa Capitol platform rack like this. Because they each have individual switches, the lights can be independently turned on/off at the fixture, too.

Switch 4: The "Flux Capacitor" switch will turn on some clear high-vis LIN6 LED Strobes from Wicked Warnings surface mounted in the front grille. I'll have them tinted so the aren't noticeable unless they're on. I use these mainly for safety when I'm on job sites with my work.

I also plan to install a lightbar on AUX 1 switch. Just waiting for my 4Runner to arrive!

Looks awesome man. I am wanting to use "Flux Capacitor" for one of these rock light sets... But my brain can't only have one of the switches taken up! :ROFLMAO: Going to look into those side dome lights you plan to install on Switch 3.

Yea I had posted up the DIY but asked for it to be deleted because the 4Runner's AUX wiring hook up is a bit different than the Tacoma. There's more than one pigtail harness cable and they plug into different locations in the engine compartment.

Hope someone will step up here and post up DIY instructions for hooking up AUX wiring.

having the stock aux switches was a game changer for the Bronco Community, made wiring up anything super simple. Looks like Toyota isnt putting this option in unless its the higher trims like TRD Pro / Trail Hunter. Yet in my area of Ma/NH I have yet to see anything besides those 2 trims have the aux switches optioned.

For those with non-hybrid, wish that it has 40A inside the cabin so that it can charge a power station quickly while driving (40A x 14V = 560W.)

Just FYI, you need some seriously thick wire for 12V@40A (see this chart showing gauge vs distance of the run: https://dcthermal.com/wire-guidecharts/ ) For example, from the table, 8 gauge to go up to 4.5 feet. Thicker if longer than that.
