Wiring advice for Hybrid models (installing KS80 Auxbeam switch panel)

I am attempting to wire the KS80 Auxbeam switch panel for more customization to my accessories.

Can someone please confirm what 12V power terminal is the correct one to connect the positive connection to. I am seeing mix things online

Green circle? Blue circle? Neither?
I’ve seen posts of running power cables extensions all the way to the rear cargo battery.

I had a recent scare recently with my ditch lights wires smoked when attached to the green post. and triggered hybrid malfunction lights on my dash. Wondering what could have caused it but made me overall a little bit more cautious, especially as a newbie at all this.
improver grounding? From positive terminal?

I wired all the way back to the battery and installed a KC power plate in the engine bay to which I wired my switch panel. Had it professionally done. As you say, too nervous when it comes to wiring stuff and dealing with the complication of the hybrid system.

At this point it’s an ugly mess, I’d almost be ashamed walking into an off road shop

I had no issues for almost a year of having it like that. I went through and checked all connections and wires, couldn’t find anything. I’m stumped, which made me pause mid installation of the switch panel since I’m reading conflicting answers
