I have always wondered that too. The only thing I can think of is a few coins, but too few to really be useful. The curve suggests it is to make it easy to slide something out, but it is so shallow you cannot put much in to slide out. I have also wondered why they molded bottle holders in both front door pockets--there are ample holders all around, and they make that space a lot less useful for anything else. I am really tempted to cut them out but don't really like the idea of making it look bad--or find out *why* they did it (like something important behind it!).
