What boxes are you guys using on your roof racks?

Looking for a decent box for my roof rack that I can mount on it for trips, but take it off when not in use. Been using totes and ratchet straps, but looking for a better solution.
I know Roam has boxes, but are they worth the price? How are the mounts for them?
Any other similar brands to consider?

I have a Pelican Vault case on my Sherpa rack. Measuring, drilling, and mounting took me less than an hour to do. I've had the case on two vehicles for months at a time and had no issues with moisture, but I live in SoCal so YMMV. Unloading the box and removing the fasteners takes a few minutes. In the past with my RAV4 I used Front Runner Wolf Pack boxes with their rack mount quick release system. I am a fan, but I haven't gotten around to trying that system out on my Sherpa yet.

The Vault case comes in an Eco version now, which uses recycled plastic. You can find them at Costco for <$150.

I am using Roam 95L. Love it. Rock solid. Bought it half price off FB marketplace. Using the Roam mounting brackets so I can pop it on and off, and lock it down.

Id imagine the brackets are good since you see a lot of people have them, but Id rather get feedback here than IG shills
Might be a "buy once. cry once" item instead of messing with cheaper boxes, makeshift brackets, etc.

Brackets are great. Once you get the dimensions dialed in, the box fits in like a glove. With the two clamping brackets on the end, the thing doesn’t move. No rattle, nothing. I’ve driven extensive highway miles with it and I forget it’s there. You mentioned in another post something about height. Roam has a version even higher than my 95L model.

Not in the Vault line. Vault is inteded for firearm storage. Pelican's Cargo line cases are larger and purpose built for overlanding, but they are $$$

If you're looking for something larger, I'd look at Roam. It's cheaper than Pelican's Cargo line, but not by much.

I just remembered Pelican has a new Crate line. The case isn't as beefy as their Cargo line, but it's 90L and has an optional rack mount solution. The case by itself is cheaper than the Roam, but the mounting system is kinda pricey.

That was fast...$675 before tax for their 90L box, organization kit and mounts. $580 without the organization kit.

Might have to make do with totes and ratchet straps for a while

FB Marketplace. You’d be surprised how many people buy this shit and then are like, I am going in a different direction. I got mine at half price, brand new, cause the guy decided he should have bought olive green instead of gun metal grey.
