Wescott Designs 20 Degree Rock Sliders with KickOut installed photos & impressions

Just received my WCD 20 degree sliders. Took 3 weeks longer than expected because of the heat wave Arizona got hit with but they arrived in great packaging and a day earlier than the shipping confirmation said they would.

They look good, welds are outstanding. I was going to do the tig welded but opted to save a few bucks and go mig, I'm happy with my decision. Should have them mounted up tonight or tomorrow depending on work.

They look awesome. Westcott makes the best sliders, hands down. Their attention to detail is amazing. For rock sliders, I always go WD.

They look very nice! Also seems to give better protection again pebble launches from the tires compared to OEM Rock sliders....
Better surface to step as well seems like.

On another topic : Where did you get the "turbo" emblem ? Love it!

Was yours a bolt on of threaded holes?

Funny you say that, I wanted to weigh them and just forgot. According the shipping slip it was 64 pounds for 2 packages, so a little over 30 pounds a side. Some of the tightly packed items I ever received.

They actually work great for steps. I'm 5'11, wife's 5'5 and we both agree it's simpler to use as a step than the OEM predator steps were. And with the kickout it's great for reaching onto the roof for loading my kayak's. Stopping debris is up in the air yet. I'll post up after this weekend trip to the Pa. Canyon

Logo's came from a buddy that is a Turbo nut and had them laying around.

Yes I have the threaded holes but you still have to drill out existing holes for the underside bolts and use supplied rivnuts. The front ones are rough getting crimped, their 11/16th.

Update,

Did close to 100 miles in, on top of, and around the Pa. Grand Canyon this weekend on dirt and gravel. Picked up lots of stones. Heard them hit off the sliders numerous times, never hit paint. Once back on the hgwy to head home again had probably 10 thumps off the sliders, none off the body. I was impressed. I think the angle helps deflect and makes it harder to fit into the slots to get between. ???

I assume these stick out less than the factory floorboards? I can't stand the floorboards since I tend to step past them and always end up getting mud on the back of my leg. I'd remove them but also like having the step for loading kayaks -- hoping to get low profile rock sliders that will solve both problems.

Way less than running boards, and being at the 20 degree angle keeps them even closer. I wanted the slider part, step is the bonus.

I personally think they work great for steps, with the auto seat starting in the rearward position before startup you can step up with your left foot on to the sliders and slip in like a sports car. Kinda feels like getting in a cockpit...lol I may be bias, I'm usto using sliders for steps.

You can use the front part of the slider to reach up top but there's not alot of real estate for big feet but the kickout works perfect and puts you right where you want to be.
