What’s up guys! Got the upgraded bolt on oem replacement turbo from Big Dawgs Toyota Tuning installed today. Have a YouTube video coming soon.

We still need to grab some dyno numbers, so I can’t give an accurate number there yet. But it’s a pretty sweet upgrade paired with the OTT tune.

Mods needed for this will be: intercooler, tune.

Can get a downpipe later but it’s pretty recommended to snag one also.

I have a full tank?
He means fuel supply. If you want more air in the cylinders, you need more fuel. And while Toyota isn't going to run their injectors at 100% duty cycle, there usually isn't enough headroom to add much extra fuel without upgrading the fuel system.

Exactly this. I am wondering if slapping a big turbo and a tune wont just go kaboom.

Please tell me you are joking and you didnt just slap a big turbo on without confirming there is enough fuel to keep it from blowing the hood off the truck.
I'm curious how tuning for the 4Runner even works. Especially for something major like a turbo. Not like you can hook up HPTuners and update some tables. Toyota's stuff is locked down. Can't even change the tire size in there.

From site

Tuning and supporting modifications are required.

The TK500 Stage 3 Turbo Upgrade does not include an ECU tune with purchase. Customers should coordinate directly with Overland Tailor Tuning (OTT) or their preferred tuner to ensure proper ECU calibration for performance and reliability.

Yeah. But how. Toyota ECU can't be modified.

There are threads about people getting tune form a couple companies. I don’t know how they are doing it.

It’s actually an oem turbo - just upgraded internally.
