Hi all! I got my 4Runner toward the end of May & when I was getting breakfast with my family yesterday, I looked out the window of the restaurant to see that there was moisture inside my right taillight after a car wash. Because the sun was hitting it, it had cleared up by the time we left the restaurant. Took it to my local Toyota dealer and they said not to be concerned. Do you agree? I worry after spending so much on a car like this that it shouldn’t be happening; It didn’t happen to the other side. Sorry for the poor quality photo, I couldn’t get the camera to focus. If you compare the normal (left) side to the right, you’ll see that there’s condensation in a part of the light that is normally dark. Thanks in advance!

In my opinion, that shouldn't be happening and the dealer should correct it on such a new and expensive car. I'd wash your car again, however you did that time, and then immediately take it to the dealer after so they can see it directly.

Separate question. I like how the 'TRD' overlay is white and the 'Pro' overlay is red. Do you know how I can order the white TRD overlay. Is it a Toyota OEM or is it aftermarket?

Love your TRD Pro!

Thanks a lot! I agree that it should be corrected by them. Thanks for your input.

Thank you! They are OEM & were on the car when I purchased it. I believe this is the link. Enjoy your weekend!

Jack, thanks for the link. I actually did order those for my rig. They are being shipped, now. I have seen a few pictures of what you have and to my eyes the TRD looks white, but I'm finding out that it really is the silver one you attached in the link. They just look white to me.

Congrats on your new rig, from a fellow new TRD Pro owner. I just got mine a few days ago.

Lense has a crack in it somewhere. Probably so small you can’t see it. Could’ve happened at the dealer, could’ve got hit just right by a rogue shopping cart.

That’s awesome, congratulations! I hope you enjoy it as much as I am :)

For the record, I didn’t know it was silver until I saw it on the Toyota parts website; It looks pretty close to white in person imo.

There is no reason why a sealed taillight would have condensation in it. Those are expensive lights, and I would insist that the dealer replace the defective one.

Did you wash it yourself, an offline hand wash service, or did mechanical structures make any contact? I ask because the dealer might assert that a mechanical roller brush wash put a hairline crack in it.

Thanks for your input! I will definitely be giving the dealership a ring next week. This was from a touchless wash, but that's a good point; I wouldn't have thought that would be something they could use as an out but that's some good thinking.
