Hello...So yesterday my alternator went on my 25' TRD Pro. Wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing these issues? I have 7500 miles on the car and I'm in shock that this happened, even the dealership was in shock.

I was driving on the highway and then all of a sudden the dashboard became a christmas tree. Didn't notice any driving differences or power issues but, man, does the car let you know something is wrong....

Wow that's bad, sorry to hear. I said elsewhere my '25 off-road doesn't even have an alternator because it is hybrid with electricity generated that way. Wondering should the hybrid generation go belly-up, if remaining 12-volt juice can be used to drive to a nearby shop (like your situation) or I'm just dead in the water.

My understanding is that If the high-voltage battery fails completely (or the inverter/power electronics go “belly-up”), the gas engine cannot run as normal. The hybrid control unit won’t allow the car to operate, even if the 12-volt still has charge. But if high-voltage battery is weak or aging, the gas engine compensates.
