Hi All

Love my new TH, but I’m pretty hard on the seat upholstery and door sill plastic getting in/out. The rock sliders don’t stick out enough to really use them as a step. Trying to poll the group if anyone’s found options they recommend

thanks!

I'm currently waiting on my trail hunter and did notice the rock slider doesn't help at all with getting in while test driving. If i were to switch it out in the future i would probably just remove the rock sliders and add predator steps.

I'm able to get in and out of my TH without any issue, but my wife has to put more effort into it... I have BudBuilt step sliders on my 4th gen, and those work really well for standing on as well as getting in and out of the vehicle. They also work really well on the trail for keeping rocks and other obstacles away from the truck, as the scratches on mine will attest to.

I'm not considering predator steps since they're more of a liability than help when on the trail.

BudBuilt doesn't have one for the 6th gen yet, but if anyone can get to their facility in NC I'm sure they'll be happy to create one!

I'm wondering if anyone else is noticing this. Whenever I get out of my TH the rock sliders always rub the back of my calves. The back of my legs get wet and/ or muddy from them. They're also worthless to help reach things on the ARB roof rack. I'm having to carry a stool around to be able to access anything on the rack.

Yup, I get muddy pants all the time from this... part of why I want the step. But one that doesn't stick lower (don't want to give up on clearance)

If you want more of a step your going to need Westcott or RCI or NYTOP or CaliRaised Sliders instead most offer "step" or trail style. Step will help you get in and out while still protecting your ride. Trail are like what comes on the TH. I'm sure you could sell yours to an SR5 owner or someone wanting that type.

Thanks for the ideas. The step style may solve some of my issues. Really like the Westcott 0 degree but they do cost more than the others.

If you are serious about the Westcott sliders, they are having a “Black Friday” sale starting tomorrow (11/28) and running through the weekend. Product discounts are 25% off which is huge and makes those sliders a little more affordable for you. Wait times will be 2-4 weeks depending upon demand and which product you are ordering.

Oops. The Westcott Designs sale is 20% off, not 25%. (11/28-12/1)

Thanks for spending my money!
I assume these are 3D printed in something more substantial than PLA.
