I had a toyota series 2 dashcam installed 4 months after purchase of vehicle.
It worked less than a month before it became unresponsive
Formatting the SD card didn't do anything. Unplugging it for minutes again nothing.
Dealership found it was getting power but they couldn't get it to work.
Replaced under accessories warranty.
The second camera again lasted a month.Same apparent failure took it to the dealer twice.
On the second visit one of the sales team looked at it and turned on the car alarm/sensor mounted on the left of the rear view mirror. The dashcam came back to life surprising everyone.
The dashcam seem to fail twice while vehicle was parked and i can only assume that it was something to do with parking mode , but what the alarm has to do with it is a mystery.
I have disabled parking mode hoping there isn't a repeat.
I would advise against the purchase of toyota series 2.0 dashcam, not value for money.
