It is improving....slowly
5th gen under identical conditions 17 mpg
From past...
Any experienced driver in canadian winter conditions knows when driving conditions are marginal as they start driving cautiously that is a good time to select 4hi be proactive dont wait until you get into trouble
If the snow in a side street or driveway is particularly deep where the truck is...
The answer is if you drive on paved surfaces definitely no
If the pavement is covered in snow or icy and slippery yes 4 hi
It can be engaged and disengaged on the move under 80 kph (check your manual for the actual speed)
So it is very easy to go in and out of 4hi
If you are driving on gravel or...
Yeah traded a 2022 and yes I could have said the same
Back seat when back there is actually better than one would expect and feels weirdly very similar to the 5th gen but some positives there is more room between the edge of the rear seat and the door and i suspect the seat base is longer...
It was for sale?
Seriously look at the state of the world right now.
Thought if this it, might as while go out in style chaps.
Cant take the car payments with one..
If the vehicle engine is started the pressures will appear after a couple of minutes the vehicle doesn't have to move
If you need to add air it takes a couple of minutes to display the new pressure
Good idea check tires with a pressure guage and compare to what the tpms displays
I have found...
So you take your Honda accord on slow uphill off road climbs?
You have to specific about what sort of climbs you are talking about
Steeper than found on public roads?
If so a climb in dirt that steep cant be done with a Honda accord it doesn't have the gearing or the traction
Why mess around changing the oil grade?
Just change the oil every 5000 miles.
A turbo engine puts out about 30 to 50% more power and torque for the given capacity
So 50% recommended interval should be good
Yes dirt, gravel, snow covered anything where one would be going at a normal road speed but needs extra traction
Anything truly offroad that has to be driven at slow speeds
Difficult terrain,slow tracks , mud
Steep climbs and descents
4lo
Slow offroading should always be done in 4L
The transmission has 8 speeds for goodness sake
Because of the low down torque of the engine some people are just keeping it in 4H because they dont have to stop and put it in neutral and shift to 4L
The torque fools them into thinking its OK to do
Its...
6th gen is more like a Ford or a Jeep and certainly not old school toyota
This will appeal to owners of Fords and Jeeps but could be bit disappointing to 4runner diehards
Certain exterior/interior finishes are subpar by 5th gen standards
But 5th gen was overbuilt in that regard and only long...
Drives ok and peak torque developed at low revs is more suited to the eco shift programming in transmissions
The 5th gen was better quality felt like if it didn't rust out it would last 30 years
The 6th gen feels like a Ford
Never use it unless I think its there might as well open it
There is a habit in Canada of moonroofs on almost everything
In this climate I cant for the life of me understand why
It must be purely for marketing
Dont even get me started on the folly Of the panoramic roof....
I will say this, over...
Change your cabin air way more frequently than engine air filter
A restricted cabin air filter strains your HVAC fan
It also can become a nest for rodents if vehicle is parked outside a lot
Dont need to use the carbon ones just standard if it looks gray replace if it looks black it is way overdue
Around 30k miles on 5th gen 4runner
That is in mixed city country driving no dusty roads
Possibly less on the 6th gen
Cabin air filters i replaced every 6 months
Dealerships rarely replace them
That was doing 25k miles per year
If one drives less it will be less often
Seems like your driveshaft needs lubrication?
As for my own experience after a month.
The extra height , it is like a factory lift and I would say unnecessarily high for most ,exit in particular is awkward compared to 5th gen.
Interior space is adequate but awkward.
The 4wd shift is not precise...
If you have put the right amount of oil in and the level is between max and min you should be good
Check it after it has been sitting overnight the level should show on the first pull of the dipstick without any streaking
