I am considering eliminating my 3rd row seating to make more room for transporting my Labrador Retriever. Don’t really want to spend $1,000 on a kit so I am looking at alternatives. Suggestions please.

I have two senior retrievers and foster from time to time but wishing I had a third row because of how flat (I think) it makes the back, If you ditch the 3rd row then I think the back gets a pretty significant bump to the back seats, unless you're going to flip them all the way up.

There's gotta be someone that would pay you to swap them too though? I feel like the 3rd row has to be somewhat sought after, right?

I am pretty sure that deleting the 3rd row seats will add about 4” of height to the cargo area. I would probably keep the seats and reinstall if I ever had to sell or trade in my 4 runner.

If I understand this you want to add 3rd row.

To do that row two will need to move forward 5 or 6 inches. That is the sacrifice you make to 2nd row leg room by adding 3rd row.
I would not have bought mine if I had known that. (Bought it in transit and never gave a thought to 2nd row leg room and didn't want 3rd row but these things were scarce then.)
The second row in mine is fixed in place with no front to back adjustment because the seat is hinged to topple forward.
I went through this when I tried to ditch the 3rd row and move row 2 back.
I mean with a set of torches anything is possible but I don't think it is a simple project.

I love the slobber on the side of my truck from them hanging out there.......
Good luck
