today I installed the Teton Workshop Limited Edition 6th Gen 4Runner Shift Knob ($144.99).

I chose the FDE with the topography on the sides for an additional $5.

It comes with instructions, tool and a stocker..

Pretty straight forward install. Took me about 15min. I had to try to install it a couple times because at forst, the trigger wasn't clicking inward to change gears. I just had to make sure to press down on the shifter while I tightened the upper screw.

IMO it looks good and I like the way the trigger clicks.

That looks really nice but now I need to find one without a flag logo. I dig that shifter too. Though I really love how big and beefy the oem one is.

I assume then that the 2 screws become loose overtime? Guess I'll need to carry the tool in the 4Runner just in case.

Actually only one loosens up and that's the shifter one not the one for the boot. I just keep the Allen key in the vehicle no big deal. I don't think you're supposed to take it all the way out or I would take it all the way out and put some Loctite on it but I didn't want to take that chance. The shifter does look really nice. I got the one that's all metal so it does get really cold in the winter. I'm waiting to see how hot it gets in the summer.
