Are people actually taking delivery of cars with 25% tariffs? What is happening on the tariff front?
no tariffs on mine - MSRP. Just got the allocation last week and due for delivery 6/23-7/7.

Right, because you don't pay tariffs until the vehicle hits the port. Do you have something in writing that says Toyota is eating any tariff that is in place when the vehicle lands?

Yes, my deposit receipt states I will be paying msrp as according to the price on the spec sheet (which I also have a paper copy of).

Can only go by what the paper states and I’m told. Can update when the vehicle arrives.

I don't think I have it in writing. The sales sheet I have is just a best estimate at the time. The customer is not obligated to purchase the vehicle they "order". If they were to try to stick a tariff surcharge on at the end, then you walk.

I was asking the same questions at the dealership, and again, they don't appear to anticipate adding any tariff surcharges on vehicle sales. I was trying to figure out how they could do that, but no real hard answers. If you want to "order" one, do it, and make sure your deposit is refundable. My dealer didn't even take a deposit from me. You're always free to walk.

Dealership sales would go to near 0 if they started passing tariff surcharges of thousands of dollars to customers.

I hope that is true, but I am sure there is fine print that says tariffs are not included and you may find out that you have to decide to pay it or refuse delivery when that time comes. The government doesn't care when you made a deposit, all that matters is what tariffs are in place when the vehicle lands in the US. It sounds like Toyota might be eating the tariff for now but who knows how long that will be the case. Can't go on forever.

Yep. And the worst thing on all of this is that Japan has had 0% tariff on American automobiles.
Trump just gave Japan the middle finger and slapped bullshit 25% tariff on them and called it reciprocal. If it was reciprocal, it would be zero. Idiot.

My dealer just informed me that my TRD ORP is now on a 30day hold. I know its currently on a train and original arrival dates were 5/16-5/31. He is checking if it is all 4runners thats are shipping because they did the same thing with the Tacomas last year.

Dude, whaaat is a 30 day hold for?

My estimated delivery on the dealership website is 5/16-5/21. That date got bumped forward from the earliest estimates that were 5/21-5/25 a few weeks ago.

Is that similar to your situation? Currently waiting on my TRD ORP in NC. My sales guy is being very tight lipped on estimated arrival dates.

I'm fairly certain that it came into port in long beach. The 28th of April the letter changed to F in the details of the build sheet. Meaning it shipped. Tuesday my dealer let me know it shipped. Last night my ETA changed on my build sheet to blank. I texted him last night and this morning he told me it says 30day hold. He's not sure if its for all 4runners currently shipping or not yet, but he did say that they voluntarily recalled the tacomas due to the chin spoiler, and he did mention it is rather flimsy, and toyota has been telling them to take them off.

I was not charged any tariff fee nor was the 4Runner marked up. Dealership told me Toyota "took care of it." Whatever that may mean.

Sorry to hear this. I saw other posts about the air dam falling off. Hopefully yours gets released soon. Keep us in the loop. I'll post back when I hear something and will try to gather any info.

So the vin on my spec sheet changed on smart path.
I tried to add the new vin to the Toyota app and it worked - not asking for a code or anything.

I got nervous and deleted the vehicle from the app lol. I’m assuming that means it’s built (est del date 6/23-7/7 - so I got a ways to go!) but…

why did the vin change from my spec sheet?

Any more info on that? My salesman text me 2 days ago that they would be getting mine in 7-10 days and then text me yesterday that he was working on my paperwork. Didnt mention anything about holds or anything else.

The dealer contacted their inventory manager for the region but regional doesn't even know why yet. Hoping to find out early next week

Guess I will contact my sales guy Monday and see what he says on my ETA. He made it sound like by next weekend I would be getting it. The dealership I'm using is 4 hours away so I don't wanna make that drive for nothing.
