Wow! I had my dog on my passenger seat today and that seat belt noise is sooooo annoying and runs for so long. It was insane. Can the dealership turn that off so it doesn't make noise for the rear and passenger seats when they don't have a seat belt on?

And if you want to own the tool and use it as much as you want instead of a carista subscription, You can get one of these:
aliexpress.us/item/3256809366199751.html

The menus are terrible, but someone made a diagram how to get to the right spot.

And I made a video:

I've also used the tool on other cars and other brands since then, so the fact that you buy it pre-configured for Toyota doesn't mean anything. I used it on my brother's silverado and I just had to download the GM packages from the main menu.

Heh yeah, just makes it a little uncomfortable for them to sit and impossible to do mid-driving after it starts beeping lol. I guess I need to look into this Carista and their dongle. Looks like it's $100 for their dongle (there's 2, which one do I need?) and then $15 for the subscription which I assume I'd only need to pay for 1 time and then cancel after making my changes, correct?

Look, whoever admin edited my post... I wanted to give credit for the diagram to the guy who made it, who was not me. You've essentially removed attribution that I *had* provided.

I also wanted to include the rest of the info in that post and thread, and the most convenient and most faithful way to do that is just link to the source.

If I wanted to post just the bare diagram without attribution I would have done that. Now instead of just letting that original post speak for itself, I guess I have to manually go back and see if there's anything I should copy and paste here, and at the very least get the original author's name to add here.

Same goes for the post to my video. I linked to the original post (even though in that case it was just myself and there was not *much* other info) on purpose, not because I don't know how to copy a youtube link.

You don't need the fancy dongle, the cheap one does the same thing. I even use a cheaper one from Veebeek I got on Amazon and it works fine. I did the one month subscription at $7.99 and cancelled it the same day (you can still use the app for a month afterwards). There's really not that many options you can change via Carista, so you'll know pretty quick what options you want to change.

Thanks, I see they sell 4 devices, which Veebeek device do I need?

Get a pair of seatbelt extenders off amazon. They are $7 each and work well. It cancels sound if you dont wear it.

I also noticed that I have a dog cover on my rear seats, but NOTHING on the actual seats, and it still shows on the dash no seatbelts in the rear. Is it really that sensitive that 2-3lb of cloth would trigger it or is there a sensor that gets blocked and that's triggering it?
